Areas of Competency
To fulfil obligations to its members, the SAOA to develop and maintain following skills for its office bearers:
- Public Relations – to encompass communication , presentation , negotiation and general advocacy skills
- Information and Knowledge Management – to serve as a bank of information relevant to Optometry and related eye care disciplines. Importantly to ensure updated re all developments within healthcare with potential to impact on membership
- Financial Management – A key responsibility to ensure finances are managed efficiently and effectively
