Scope of Operation
The total sphere in which Optometry and Dispensing Opticians are active .i.e. the business of the SAOA is to deal with all issues which impact on its total membership

Customer Scope
All role-players active within the eye care arena are considered “customers “.These stakeholders include relevant Government departments (Health, Transport. Education) – at local and interntional levels , Statutory bodies (eg HPCSA, The Competition Commission, Council for Medical Schemes, etc) , other professions and professional associations (eg OSSA, SAMA, SADA, etc) the Supply industry, NGO’s (ICEE, St Johns, Lions International,etc), International bodies (WCO, AFCO) etc.

Geographic Scope
The efforts of the SAOA will be dedicated to South Africa, towards 2012
