Who We Are
The South African Optometric Association is a professional body acting as the custodian of the profession of Optometry and Dispensing Opticians.
THE VISION of the organisation is to establish Optometry as the Primary Eye Care profession - acting as a primary care giver with the focus on delivery of accessible, affordable and equitable eye care to all members of the South African public and to establish Optometry as the gateway to routine eyecare.
THE DRIVING FORCE of the organisation is its member Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians. The organisation embraces and supports associate and affiliate members in ancillary eye care professions such as Ocularists, Orthoptists and Optometric Assistants.
