Good news is that it is amongst the most successful and cost effective of all the health intervention to correct, yet there are literally hundreds of thousands of South Africans who are desperately in need of eye care and cannot afford it.

Touch, taste, hearing, smell and sight. The five senses. Without even one, our lives are greatly affected, yet we still take these five wonders for granted. Sight is one of the most important and treasured of these senses. Imagine not being able to see your friends, your loved ones, colours and the world around you. Imagine not being able to read your favourite book or watch your favourite television show.
The Vision in Sight Trust is a non-profit organisation, established by the South African Optometric Association to facilitate the delivery of affordable, accessible and quality eye care to the indigent market. The South African Optometric Association, which was established in 1924 and has provided the South African population with almost 8 decades of eye health excellence
The trust is approached on an ongoing basis by individuals and organizations to deliver eye care. We strive to provide help according to priority and need.
Uncorrected refractive error is now recognized as the major course of visual impairment world wide and affects over two hundred and fifty million people.
